Birthday Outing

My eldest son and I have our birthdays a week apart and this year it was his 50th though he didn’t want a fuss. We like to have a lunch together between the two birthdays if he is working on the day.

We couldn’t decide where we should go locally that wouldn’t be too crowded and let us see the water then my granddaughter suggested we go to the modern cafe overlooking the lake where we have been before as a family.

It is called Deck 56 Restaurant in Belmont. They always make us feel very welcome and the food is a little bit different and always nice. I had this seafood platter $35. Richard had calamari and chips and my granddaughter had vegetarian lasagna. I was very touched that the chef had plated up the first lasagne but it had fallen apart so he insisted on making another although as I pointed out quietly it still tastes the same but it was nice to see he has his high standards.

We were all very pleased with our meals. My Oysters Kilpatrick were delicious, and everything was cooked perfectly. Only the fish was cooked in batter so that was a plus. Richard had to help eat it up.
