Toot Toot Tiny Trumpet Blow

I don’t tell people much about by writing although I have mentioned on here that I need to do more that is not just on the blog.

I sometimes get to hear about things I have not realised I’ve got into print (since no cheque has arrived!) but this notification by my friend Barrie is very special because Roy and his band were an important part of my teenage years and growing up. So to hear back from Roy personally that my story had influenced his life in a good way and also given him some recognition for his talent has made me very happy.

Also, someone had copied my story from my older blog to the Worksop Now and Then Facebook group and it wasnt till fb sent me a notification of a comment that I found to my amazement and pleasure some really lovely comments about it, including from Roy’s daughter. Now that, truly, is really gratifying.

Thank goodness I can now screenshot and save it as you see here. Must show it to my children.

Barrie wrote: Hi Eunice just wondered if you had seen this as it’s well buried in the comments section and I don’t think you will have received a notification for it.

Keep smiling.

Eunice C English Hi this is Roy and just wanted to let you know that your article was responsible for my appearances on our local radio here in Murcia Spain l was rehearsing panto,Janine our other daughter was at the rehearsal and posted it to the drama group and my secret was blown.
I was the Huntsman an in Snow White and my Wicked Queen has a radio program. She read the article on air and I was there to fill in.Lovely experience thanks to you.Love Roy

There is a huge box in my cupboard of copies of mY published stories that would surprise even my closest friends, since writing is my secret life. Many were in newspapers and magazines, 11 are in published books.

There isalso a big box of work I have never published, not having got round to finding a literary agent to cajole me into editing and such.

I have instructed my son not to take it to the tip so maybe one day it may be of historical interest since much of it is memoir, or life stories of other people. Some of it was done as University assignments.

.Too Much Information – why Eunice C?

Googling Eunice C English brings up some surprises. (Dont tell me you havent ever Googled your name). Some make me cringe! Why Eunice C? Because there are more Eunice English’s than you would think in this world. And yes, Eunice Hobson-English is me too, might as well admit, though Eunice C English is my birth name. Nothing is secret on t’internet any more anyway. Oh and, Eunice Hobson, artist is the name on all my artwork, but that is another story. So now you know.

Love B.

  1. WOOHOO!
    Well done milady! 🌹🌹

Roy Dwayne & The Roamers sound like a great, cohesive group, judging by the recordings on You Tube. Great songs & excellently sound engineered recordings.

    1. Yes Ang they were proper musicians with a good team and good attitude plus supportive partners. I think that was their secret. And they had fun!
